Prof. Ahmed Alaskar

Prof. Ahmed Alaskar earned his MBBS in February 1989 from King Saud University, Riyadh and completed his medical residency training at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 1995. In August 1995, he completed his American Board of Internal Medicine Certification and, in June 1997, became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada. Further, Prof. Alaskar completed his fellowship training at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, where he earned his Canadian Board Certification in Hematology, American Board in Hematology and completed his Fellowship in Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation in December 1998.
Prof. Alaskar joined King Abdulaziz Medical City – Riyadh, National Guard Health Affairs in January 1999 as a Consultant in Adult Hematology and held several administrative positions and assignments including: Head of the Division of Adult Hematology from February 2006 to March 2015, and his current positions of Executive Director of King Abdullah International Medical Research Center since September 2013, and President of Saudi Scientific Society of Blood & Marrow Transplantation since October 2010. He also holds a position of full professor in College of Medicine at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences.
Prof. Alaskar has a number of publications and is involved in numerous local and national committees as well as several international societies.
